struggling with the brief. finding it hard to enterprate it into my own thoughts/ ideas. so broad that i am struggling to think of ideas.
so, i rang my most trusty advice giver - my mother, and she helped me to break it down and think of some concepts.
was still lost and unfocused, amongst her talking i made a throw away comment ' i want to photograph rats!!!!?!' and proceeded to giggle.
i don't know, something to do with my immature disposition. or the craziness that comes with creativity? she questioned me and told me to stop being silly.
but after thinking about it, i actually do want to photograph rats?! want to include the conept of them within this project.
mum asked, 'how?' 'why?'
i responded, 'they're supposed to be poisonous aren't they?'
followed by 'would you be trying to empathise with rats? show their plight? their feel of rejection?'
i laughed as if she had now made the ridiculous suggestion.
i don't know, they could represent something. something metaphorical. whether it be to make a political message? a social commentary? i'm not sure. i just thing they'd be an interesting subject matter.
anyway, conversation went on. decided that the most obtainable way to photograph rats would be to contact an exterminator. not that i thing they'd be very up for letting me go a long for the ride and photograph what they are payed to kill? worth a shot.
to do:
contact rat exterminators!
and if all else fails, head to the gutters.
